Joy’s Live-in Partner

Yes, I have a live-in partner and his name is Ewok.  I never thought I could learn to live with some with whom I am known to have an allergy with   He is all white except with some brown spots on both his ears and at the base of his tail.  His hair is smooth, thanks to the Pantene conditioner.  He loves his afternoon bath, and he loves to eat spaghetti, Nova, Img_0636
lollipops, and sweet cakes. Unfortunately he doesn’t like sardines.

Ewok’s favorite plaything is a blue piggy stuffed toy which I gave him on the day heImg_0404
arrived in our house last March 4, 2006. His favorite spot is a single sofa chair in our sala, though he also loves to jump onto my "sleeping sofa" to sit beside me.

A Place Where Mermaids Go…

April 21st, 2007 by joyvice

Img_0069Hay este lugar en Moalboal que significaría literalmente “donde las sirenas recolectan” porque se llama “club Serena”.

But first, let’s see where Moalboal is….as Wikipedia Dictionay describes it, Moalboal is "is a 4th class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 23,402 people in 4,790 households.

Img_0024
Extending as a peninsula in the Southwestern tip of Cebu, Moalboal is bordered to the west by the Tañon Strait. From the western shoreline, the island of Negros can be seen. Moalboal is located 89 kilometers from Cebu City, about 2.5 hours by bus.

Moalboal is nestled between the towns of Alcantara and Badian. From the tulay, an unfinished bridge located in Moalboal’s town proper, Badian Island can be clearly seen, as well as the popular tourist attraction, Pescador Island."

Img_0005 Now, Club Serena is located in "BASDAKO" - and yes the beachline literally has big or wide white sand. To make the comparison, we city dwellers are familiar with the two beachfronts: "BASDIOT"( means small sand") and BASDAKO(which means "big sand).  In Basdiot we will find most of the resorts that cater to divers, swimmers, and European tourists who would love to go diving.  And the beachline is limiteImg_0051d. You will also  find some of the  restaurants  in that area.

In Basdako, you will find the public beach and most of the newly build resorts.  During low tide the beachline extends to a few distance.  And in the afternoon you will enjoy the sunset.

At Club Serena, you will enjoy the feeling of privacy while you enjoy the peaceful and refreshing beach (and we even did some body scrubbing with the white sands :) ).  The place is cozy and the people are very accommodating….

My Joyful Vices

April 21st, 2007 by joyvice

Img_0258_1
One of my treasured vices is my being a "travel-bug".  Like everyone else who has the budget - take note "the budget" - I love to go to places where we can sit around with friends, be ourselves, eat anything edible, laugh out loud, talk out loud and simply enjoy the place and the people we are with…..that is what I call "VACACION MAGNIFICA!!!"Img_0264_1

I have posted some pics to show you one of our latest escapades.
Unfortunately, I was not able to go with the group last Holy Week, but I promise I will be back to that beautiful and quaint place called "Camotes".

As usual, to those city dwellers who would visit these beautiful, relaxing, QUIET, provincial locations please, please I beg of you never leave your trash behind….bring them back to your place…..MAAYONG PAG BAKASYON!!!!Img_0238
